Inspired by the financial world’s S&P 500 heatmaps, Product Treemaps show a category’s hierarchy via nested rectangles.
Each box represents a product category, subcategory, segment, brand or item. Beneath each box are the child products that make up the parent. The size of the box reflects total size of the measure being visualized ($ sales, units, velocity, etc). The color of each rectnagles shows year-over-year performance — green for gains, red for losses
With just a glance, you can spot what’s growing, what’s slipping, and where to focus your attention.
